Quincy Mumford ans The Reason Why with special guest Matt Mackelcan

This night will be a special double billing between Quincy Mumford and Matt Mackelcan!!!!

With a genuine combination of American soul and an upbeat pop-rock style, Matt has emerged as one of the go-to indie front men in the southeastern U.S. He first cut his teeth in the music scene of Orlando Florida during his time at Rollins College while earning a degree in vocals, composition and guitar. In 2008, Matt was lured to Charleston along the South Carolina coast—where his single “Drive” has been regularly featured on radio at 105.5 The Bridge. When around home, Matt also performs regularly at the iconic venue The Windjammer…perhaps best-known as a launchpad for Darius Rucker’s Hootie & The Blowfish. Matt’s trademarks are a big voice, authentic songwriting, personable nature and an extra dose of funny. This latest CD entitled (From Where I Stand) was released in 2014.

After 5 years, 400+ shows, and four award-winning albums, New Jersey-based 21 year-old singer/songwriter Quincy Mumford is set to release his 5th album “Its Only Change” on July 30th, 2013.  Its Only Change was recorded in Nashville, TN with producer Ken Coomer (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo) and features performances from Jerry Roe (K.D. Lang), David Labruyere (John Mayer) and Aubrey Freed (Black Crowes, Sheryl Crow).  Producer Ken Coomer, states, “Quincy Mumford is a true artist that can bring raw 70′s style rock and funk highlighted with the voice of an old soul, it’s a perfect blend.”

Quincy and The Reason Why are excited to continue their tireless performance schedule which has found them sharing the stage with Slightly Stoopid, Rusted Root, Moe., Donovan Frankenreiter, Tedeschi Trucks Band and performing at major music festivals The Gathering of the Vibes and Musikfest.  Quincy and the band also volunteer their time for The Surfrider Foundation and hold other environmental causes close to their collective hearts.

Optimistic, charismatic, and undeniably genuine, Quincy’s music possesses the same “feel good” attitude that the young man himself does.  Its Only Change establishes Quincy Mumford and The Reason Why as a “Band to Watch” in 2013.
