NYC-based Ruby Greenberg is artistically inspired by the best of many genres; by the intense, moody compositions of artists such as Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, as well as the earthy, progressive sounds of bands such as I’m With Her and The Staves.

Born and raised in the mountains of Colorado, Ruby’s early years were spent as a singer in fusion bands and vocal groups, leading to unique performance opportunities at festivals in New York, California, Memphis, and Denver. She moved to NYC in 2013 to explore the Manhattan music scene and graduated from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. She eventually found home in songwriting and began sharing her original music, performing with her band, as well as a soloist, throughout New York.

Aside from leading her own band, Ruby works as a back up vocalist for other New York artists and performs with a number of pop and jazz groups. She recently performed as winner of the Jazz Forum Arts vocal competition in NY, opened for Broadway actress Lena Hall, and sang as back up vocalist for world renowned jazz musicians Kate Baker and Vic Juris.
